Forty miles east of McCall is one of the most mining historic sites in all of Idaho and this summer you are invited to rediscover history for yourself. We would love to show you the site on one of our tours during the summer of 2015.

Currently, we have 2015 tours scheduled:

  • Monday, June 29
  • Friday, July 24
  • Friday, August 14
  • Thursday, August 27
  • Friday, September 4
  • Tuesday, September 8
  • Friday, September 18

The tours are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have a larger group other dates can also be accommodated. To reserve your spot on one of the 2015 tours call (208) 901-3060 or email [email protected]. The tours typically leave Yellow Pine at 10 a.m. and return by 3 p.m.

Guests on the tour will see the former Stibnite town site, the Yellow Pine Pit and the former Meadow Creek Mine and mill site and see the legacy that past mining has left behind. At the height of activity in the 1940s, more than 750 people lived and worked in Stibnite year-round. This vibrant town had its own school, hospital and recreation center.

The Stibnite-Yellow Pine Mining District hasn’t been mined since 1996. In 2009, we began our exploration work on the site. We are investigating ways to correct many of the environmental legacies of previous mining while looking for gold, antimony and silver at the site.

See you in Stibnite!
