Meet Ciara, Our Wonderful Summer Intern

My name is Ciara Cheshire and I am the new public relations intern with Midas Gold in the Treasure Valley office! I will be a senior at Boise State University in the fall studying public relations with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. I have lived in Boise for 13 years now, since I was just 10 years old. We moved here because of the love my dad has for the wilderness. He fostered that same love in me throughout the years.

My childhood consisted of family days every Sunday. As a teenager this was the last thing I wanted to participate in. What 13 to 16-year-old wants to spend half their weekend with their family? Now that I am older, I am so glad I had this privilege. In the winter, these days were spent skiing at Bogus Basin and in the summer time they were spent on hikes, bike rides and river floating. One of our most common hiking spots was Stack Rock, just a few miles up Bogus Basin Road. After Sunday family day, my dad would usually take us to pizza either at Flying Pie or Idaho Pizza Company. Even though I am now 23 years old, I still try to do as many of these activities as possible and I won’t be missing pizza Sundays anytime soon.

We go on many camping trips around Idaho as well. One of our family’s favorite spots is up off of Smylie Road in Valley County.  This spot is to the West between Cascade and McCall on the Payette River. We have gone here at least once every summer for the past three years.

After graduating in May 2019, I plan on staying here in the beautiful city of Boise. I’m not sure what I plan to do quite yet but I know there’s no place I would rather figure it out in.
