Join us at the Stibnite Gold Project site

The Stibnite Gold Project site has played an important role in Idaho’s history – it even helped Americans with the war effort during World War II. This summer, we want you to come and see this historic site for yourself.

Every summer, when the weather is warm enough, we invite community members to come and take a tour of the Stibnite Gold Project site. We have several tour dates available:

  • July 9, 2016
  • July 19, 2016
  • August 3, 2016
  • August 19, 2016

Guests on the tour will see the former Stibnite town site, the Yellow Pine Pit and the former Meadow Creek Mine and mill site and see the legacy past mining operations have left behind. At the height of activity in the 1940s, more than 750 people lived and worked in Stibnite year-round. This vibrant town had its own school, hospital and recreation center.

Tours are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve your spot on one of the tours call (208) 901-3060 or email community@MidasGoldInc.com. Typically we leave Yellow Pine at 10 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. If you have a group larger than 10 people, we may be able to set up a special tour date just for you and your group.

The Stibnite-Yellow Pine Mining District hasn’t been mined since 1996. We started exploring the site about seven years ago. We believe we can restore the site through modern mining and fix the environmental legacies left behind while looking for gold, silver, antimony and tungsten at the site.

We hope you will join us on one of our tours. We would love to show you the site!
